Attack and interceptors Jets

There are different kind of attack and interceptor aircrafts but they all have one thing in common: you can better be their friend either to be their enemy….

The largest group in this section are called Multi Role fighter aircraft. They can be operated for different purposes like air to air combat, air to ground attack and even strategic operations. The F-16 Fighting Falcon – F-18 Hornet – F-15 eagle – MIG-29 & the Eurofighter Typhoon are perfect examples of multi role fighter aircraft.

On the other hand you have those countries who are developing their own fighter aircrafts so they can “adjust” them to their proper “national security needs. So in France they build the Mirage F-1, the Mirage 2000 and finally the Dassault Rafale. In Sweden they needed a high-tech intelligent aircraft that must be able to land on a simple highway, so they made the Saab JAS-39 Gripen.

Some are also specialized in intercepting targets (mostly armored vehicles or tank) on the ground from a distance of at least 15 km like the A-10 Thunderbold and the Panavia Tornado.

And finally you have the older ones… Airplanes, like the A-7 Corsair, the Russian SU-22 and the F-4 Phantom who proved their accuracy during many operations, who will be or are already retired
